LATE NIGHT

Tahajjud is a highly encouraged, non-obligatory worship.

Begin: Last third of the night.

End: Fajr (dawn).

NOON

Dhuhr time begins the obligatory noon worship.

Begin: Shortly after solar noon.

End: `Asr (afternoon).

AFTERNOON

`Asr time begins the obligatory afternoon worship.

Begin: Solar shadows of objects are either the same length as their height or double.

End: Maghrib (sunset).

NIGHT

`Ishaa begins the obligatory early night worship.

Begin: Solar light has disappeared entirely.

End: Fajr (dawn).

DAWN/DAYBREAK

Dawn time begins the obligatory morning worship.

Begin: First glimpse of solar light in the sky.

End: Ishraaq (Sunrise).

NOON ON FRIDAY

Jumu`ah Congregation is performed on Fridays in lieu of Dhuhr. It is required for men.

Those who do not attend Jumu`ah perform dhuhr.

MAGHRIB

Maghrib means sunset and the congregation at WPIC is performed 10 minutes after sunset.

Begin: Sunset

End: `Ishaa (night).
